It may happen that you are unable to see the beacons in our Beaconstac app. You can run into this issue due to some of the reasons mentioned below. 

You should start by checking if your GPS (location) is on and the app has been granted the location permission. In either cases the app would fail to scan for your beacons.

Further, you must ensure that your bluetooth is on - without which the app would not receive any packets from the beacon.

Checking the batteries 

If you find everything enabled on the app side you must then check if the batteries placed within the beacon are still functional. You will need to follow different instructions based on the beacons you have to check their batteries status:

  1. Indoor and Outdoor beacons - Remove the back cover using something sharp (e.g. a guitar pick). Remove and reinsert the batteries to notice a red LED blink. Absence of red light indicates dead batteries.
    Replacement -
    These  beacons use standard AA batteries.
  2. Keychain beacons - Open up the beacon from the bottom hinge near the keychain hanger. Remove and reinsert the battery to notice a blue LED blink. Absence of blue light indicates a dead battery.
    Replacement - Keychain beacons use standard CR2032 batteries.
  3. Pocket beacons - Open up the beacon by pulling it up from near the power button (check out this video for more information of how to open the beacon). Remove and reinsert the battery to notice a blue LED blink. Absence of blue light indicates a dead battery.
    Replacement - Indoor beacons use standard CR2477 batteries.

Replace those dead batteries to make the beacons transmit again.
