Beaconstac offers several design options to help make your QR Codes stand out.

From changing pattern shapes to switching colors and frames and adding a logo of your choice, Beaconstac allows you to create a QR Code that truly matches the aesthetic of your brand.

Here's how it works.

How to create custom QR Codes on Beaconstac

Step 1 - Create your QR Code

Login to the Beaconstac dashboard and click on 'QR Codes' in the left-hand panel. Next, select ‘Create QR Code’.

Select the type of QR Code you want to create. For this example, we're creating a Website QR Code.

Step 2 - Enter the details for your QR Code

The setup page will prompt you to enter details for your QR Code based on the type of QR Code that you select. For website QR Codes, you will be prompted to enter a URL to link the QR Code to.

Step 3 - Customize the QR Code Design

This is where we begin customizing your QR Code. Beaconstac offers several different customization options. Let's run you through them.

1) Templates

With Beaconstac, you can create standard templates that you can apply every time you create a QR Code.

Learn how to create QR Code templates on Beaconstac here.

Apply the template by heading over to the 'Templates' section of the customization menu and selecting the template of your choice. We also offer a few pre-built templates to help you get started.

2) Eyes

The eyes of the QR Code are the three squares surrounded by a frame on the corners of the QR Code. These are positioning markings and indicate which direction the QR Code has been printed in.

To customize the eyes of your QR Code, select the 'Eyes' tab on the customization screen.

Change the eye-ball color and shape

Select a color from the palette or enter the hex code directly. To change the shape of the eyes, simply click on the available shapes.

Change the eye-frame color and shape

Pick a color from the palette or use the hex code of the colors used in your branding. To change the shape, select one from the available templates.

3) Logo

QR Codes with a logo are instantly recognizable and reinforce your branding.

To add a logo to your QR Code, select the 'Logo' tab in the customization screen.

Next, pick a logo from the in-built gallery, or upload your own.

You can also change the size of the logo by using the slider and choose to have a white background around the logo by clicking on the button.

4) Pattern

Your QR Code doesn't have to stick to the traditional square pattern. Beaconstac offers several different pattern shapes to choose from.

You can also alter the color of the pattern while you're at it.

NOTE - Always select a pattern color that contrasts with the background for good readability.

5) Background

Beaconstac also allows you to customize the background for your QR Code.

You can select a color, upload an image or opt for a transparent background using the dropdown menu.

NOTE - Make sure the QR code has a contrast ratio of at least 40% with the background. This means the QR code should be 40% darker than the background. Scan the QR code with your smartphone to ensure your QR Code is scannable.

NOTE - When adding an image as the background of the QR Code, make sure that the colors of the QR code do not clash with the colors of the image. This may cause readability issues. We recommend scanning the QR Code with your phone to ensure scannability isn't affected.

5) Frames

Beaconstac offers several different frame styles to choose from, allowing you to add a CTA to your QR Code.

Alter the CTA using the frame text option below.

You can also transform your QR Code into a circular QR Code by selecting the circular frame in this section.

And there you have it - you've finished customizing your QR Code to match your brand. All that's left now is to download your QR Code.

You can download your QR code in PNG, SVG, JPEG or EPS formats.
