How to set up workflows quickly and easily using Zap Templates

Zap Templates are ready-made Zapier workflows where the apps and actions are predefined. It reduces the time taken to set up workflows and helps users automate their tasks with just a few clicks.

Uniqode's Zapier integration enables the automation of QR Code workflows, making it easier to execute complex campaign activities. To help you get started with QR Code automation we've created ready-to-use Zap templates that you can use immediately.

Prerequisites

Create Zap Templates for Dynamic QR Code creation

  1. Sign in to your Zapier account.

  2. Click Zaps in the left menu.

  3. Click Create in the top-right, then click New Zap.

You can automate QR Code with supported apps by creating a template for each of the apps as follows:

Automate Dynamic QR Code creation with Google Sheets

With Google Sheets, you can automate your dynamic QR code creation and avoid any repetitive tasks involved. For every new row in a Google Sheets spreadsheet, a dynamic QR Code is created in Uniqode. To do so:

Configure Trigger

  1. In the Trigger section, choose Google Sheets.

  2. Choose New Spreadsheet Row from the drop-down in the Event field.

  3. Click Continue.

  4. Click Sign in, to sign in to your Google account.

  5. Click Continue.

  6. In the Set up trigger section, choose the required spreadsheet and worksheet from which you want to create QR codes.

  7. Click Continue.

  8. Click Test Trigger. If the account connected is right, the data will be fetched from the selected sheet.

  9. Click Continue.

Configure Action

  1. In the Action section, choose Beaconstac.

  2. Choose to Create Dynamic QR Code from the drop-down in the Event field.

  3. Click Continue.

  4. Choose your Uniqode account or sign into another Uniqode account that you want to create the Action for, then click Continue.

  5. In the Set up action section, enter QR Code Name, Template Name, Campaign Type, and the required fields associated with the selected campaign type.

  6. Click Continue.

  7. Click Test action if you want to check whether everything is configured correctly.

  8. Click Publish Zap.

  9. Click Publish & Turn On.

Note: Optionally, you can transfer any existing data within Zapier to Google Sheets to create respective rows, by clicking Transfer existing data in the pop-up that appears.

Automate Dynamic QR Code creation with a Form response

Once a form response is submitted in Uniqode, automatically create dynamic QR Codes. This Zap is handy for businesses that want to make unique QR Codes for customers as part of their loyalty program or other promotional activities.

Configure Trigger

  1. In the Trigger section, choose Beaconstac.

  2. Choose New Form Response from the drop-down in the Event field.

  3. Click Continue.

  4. Choose your Beaconstac account, then click Continue.

  5. Choose a form from the drop-down in the Form field, under the Set up trigger section.

  6. Click Continue.

  7. Click Test Trigger. If the account connected is right, the data will be fetched from the selected account.

  8. Click Continue.

Configure Action

  1. In the Action section, choose Beaconstac.

  2. Choose Create Dynamic QR Code from the drop-down in the Event field.

  3. Click Continue.

  4. Choose your Beaconstac account or sign into another Beaconstac account that you want to create the Action for, then click Continue.

  5. In the Set up action section, enter the QR Code Name, Template Name, Campaign Type, and the required fields associated with the selected campaign type.

  6. Click Continue.

  7. Click Test action if you want to check whether everything is configured correctly, else click Skip Test.

  8. Click Publish Zap.

  9. Click Publish & Turn On.

Notify channels during new QR Codes scans in Slack

Once a QR Code is scanned, send a message to a Slack channel instantly. Share QR Code data with your team members and always keep them in the loop. This is a multi-step Zap Template that lets you connect to more than one application.

Configure Trigger

  1. In the Trigger section, choose Beaconstac.

  2. Choose QR Code Scanned from the drop-down in the Event field.

  3. Click Continue.

  4. Choose your Uniqode account or sign into another Uniqode account that you want to create the Trigger for, then click Continue.

  5. Choose a form from the drop-down in the Form field, under the Set up trigger section.

  6. Click Continue.

  7. Click Test Trigger. If the account connected is right, the data will be fetched from the account.

  8. Click Continue.

Now, you have to create two actions that have to be done by Zapier and Uniqode, as follows:

Configure Action - Zapier

  1. In the Action section, choose Format under the Built-in tools section.

  2. Choose Date/Time from the drop-down in the Event field.

  3. Click Continue.

  4. Choose Format from the drop-down in the Transform field.

  5. Enter “qr_code_viewed” under Custom tab in the Input field.

  6. Choose the required date/time format from the drop-down in the To Format field.

  7. Click Continue.

  8. Click Test action if you want to check whether everything is configured correctly, else click Skip Test.

  9. Click + icon below.

Configure Action - Slack

  1. In the Action section, choose Beaconstac.

  2. Choose Send Channel Message from the drop-down in the Event field.

  3. Click Continue.

  4. Click Sign in, then sign in to your Slack account.

  5. Click Continue.

  6. Choose the channel in which you want to notify in the Channel field.

  7. Enter the message in the Message text field.

  8. Click Continue.

  9. Click Test action if you want to check whether everything is configured correctly, else click Skip Test.

  10. Click Publish Zap.

  11. Click Publish & Turn On.

Update Dynamic QR Codes automatically when you upload new videos to your YouTube channel

Once a new video is uploaded to your YouTube channel, update the corresponding dynamic QR Code instantly in Uniqode. This Zap is useful for businesses that upload new YouTube videos regularly. It automatically updates dynamic QR Codes to allow customers to view the latest videos.

Configure Trigger

  1. In the Trigger section, choose YouTube.

  2. Choose New Video in Channel from the drop-down in the Event field.

  3. Click Continue.

  4. Click Sign in, then sign in to your YouTube account.

  5. Click Continue.

  6. Enter your YouTube channel ID in the Channel field, under the Set up trigger section. For example, if your YouTube channel’s URL is https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCkr_QT-41Socd--jK37LNXA, the channel ID is UCkr_QT-41Socd--jK37LNXA.

  7. Click Test Trigger. If the account connected is right, the data will be fetched from the YouTube channel.

  8. Click Continue.

Configure Action

  1. In the Action section, choose Beaconstac.

  2. Choose Update Dynamic QR Code from the drop-down in the Event field.

  3. Click Continue.

  4. Choose your Uniqode account or sign into another Uniqode account that you want to create the Action for, then click Continue.

  5. In the Set up action section, enter the QR Code Name, QR Code ID, Campaign Type (1 for Website), and the Website URL. You’ll find your QR Code ID and Name respectively from the Uniqode dashboard.

  6. Click Continue.

  7. Click Test action if you want to check whether everything is configured correctly, else click Skip Test.

  8. Click Publish Zap.

  9. Click Publish & Turn On.

Add attendees to Google Calendar events with new form responses in Uniqode

Once a new form response is submitted in Uniqode, add the attendee to a Google Calendar event. This Zap helps businesses organize events easily and eliminates the hassle of manually adding each attendee to an event on Google Calendar.

Configure Trigger

  1. In the Trigger section, choose Beaconstac.

  2. Choose New Form Response from the drop-down in the Event field.

  3. Click Continue.

  4. Choose your Uniqode account, then click Continue.

  5. Choose a form from the drop-down in the Form field, under the Set up trigger section.

  6. Click Continue.

  7. Click Test Trigger. If the account connected is right, the data will be fetched from the selected account.

  8. Click Continue.

Configure Action

  1. In the Action section, choose Google Calendar.

  2. Choose Add Attendee/s to Event from the drop-down in the Event field.

  3. Click Continue.

  4. Click Sign in, then sign in to your Google Calendar account.

  5. Click Continue.

  6. Choose a calendar, event, and enter the attendees’ email addresses, in Set up action section.

  7. Click Test action if you want to check whether everything is configured correctly, else click Skip Test.

  8. Click Publish Zap.

  9. Click Publish & Turn On.
